Year 12 chapter
TED is an organisation that seeks to spread ideas from the worlds' more inspired free thinkers, to change attitudes and lives across cultures; creating deeper understanding of the world and its developments.
TED talks are short videos of powerful and inspiring talks on a vast array of subject areas in over 100 languages. Students are encouraged to challenge their ideas and discuss them on a more academic platform, helping them to develop their communication skills and prepare them for higher level discussion and thought for university or beyond.
THINK and GROW rich programme
Success at A Level, BTEC National or CACHE depends on students habits, routines, attitudes and approaches to study. It is their behaviours, not their intelligence, that determine their results.
THINK and GROW rich is a mind-set program that will help improve students' success. Over the course of the year, students will engage in sessions that will seek to develop them in 'The Four As'. Students who are successful:
- have a clear vision (ASPIRATIONS)
- develop a positive mental attitude (ATTITUDE)
- put the relevant systems in place (ACTIONS)
- practise their skills in order to progress forward (ADVANCE)
Careers information and personal development
The purpose of our careers programme is to make sure that students leave us prepared for the next step on their journey, whether that be to higher education or employment. We aim to raise aspirations and promote social mobility, ensuring that all students have access to the best opportunities.
The programme provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to be ‘life ready learners’ and achieve in the wider world. We are actively working to meet all eight of the Gatsby Benchmarks with many, already being achieved.
