Understanding Addiction as a Disease

Research shows that poor choices with alcohol, drugs and smoking before the age of 21 significantly increases a persons risk of addiction. Watch this short video to learn how addiction works and what you can do to prevent it.

We have an upcoming RSHE Day, each year will be focusing on the following:


Year 7: Health and puberty - Healthy routines, influences on health, puberty, unwanted contact, and FGM 


Year 8: Drugs and alcohol - Alcohol and drug misuse and pressures relating to drug use


Year 9: Careers/business - Living in the wider world


Year 10: Health and wellbeing - Drugs, the dangers, the law and the effects.


Year 11: Communication in relationships - Personal values, assertive communication (including in relation to contraception and sexual health), relationship challenges and abuse. 


Year 12 & Year 13: Health and wellbeing - Drugs, STIs, Clinics, Advice + Sexual Health
