Technician: Science or D&T

 

Salary: TST Grade 3, SCP 3-4 £18,887 to £19,264 FTE  £16,328 - £16,654 Actual

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Term Time + 6 days

Start date: Immediate

The King’s CofE Academy is seeking to recruit a technician to provide support to either the Science or D&T Department.

 

Duties will include:

  • Assisting teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practicals

  • Preparing teaching aids as required

  • Assisting in the maintenance of safety standards in the department

  • Managing the stock of resources

  • Check materials and equipment before and after use by class for quantity and damage

The King’s CofE Academy is looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / Inclusion Support Assistant to join the academy team.

The successful candidate will, under the guidance of the Deputy and Assistant SENDco, work to provide support for

  • teaching and learning activities both within the classroom setting and in small intervention groups

  • the development and implementation of  Individual Education/Behaviour Plans.

  • individual pupils with an EHCP

 

We are looking to appoint someone who -

  • has a passion for working with children

  • is flexible, enthusiastic, have lots of energy and a real sense of fun and are calm and patient

  • has a good understanding of SEND

  • has the ability to work as part of a team and to show initiative

  • is keen to be involved in all aspects of school life

  • has excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children and parents

  • has excellent English and Maths skills as well as being creative

  • has a thorough understanding of the need for confidentiality and the importance of safeguarding

The King’s CofE Academy is seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join the facilities team, to assist in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of the school premises and with specific responsibilities to support the delivery of health and safety management. 

 

Duties will  include: 

  • Maintaining the security and safety of the premises (buildings and grounds) and its contents including monitoring the school’s CCTV system. 

  • Managing the control of contractors, undertaking hazard exchange and monitoring work in progress.  

  • Undertake risk assessments and COSHH procedures. 

  • Ensure plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated.  

  • Managing community use of the school facilities. 

 

The post holder will be required to provide out of hours cover as necessary (evening / weekends). 

This post comes with the option of occupancy of the on-site, 2 bed, detached, caretaker’s house at a very competitive rent.
