Thinking about secondary education?

We are delighted that you are considering The King's for your child.

We know how important it is that you make the right decision about your child’s secondary education.  At The King’s, our core values reflect the fact that every child is important and that every child is valued.

The King’s represents a fabulous opportunity as a Church of England secondary school which welcomes all faiths and cultures.  The Christian ethos permeates across all of our work and we celebrate unity in diversity – diversity of those of Christian faith, those of other faith and those of no faith.  Our students work together in a school which strives for excellence in all areas.  Our students flourish together and develop respect and understanding for each other so that they are prepared for their adult lives in modern Britain.

All visitors to the school comment on the warmth of welcome and the calm, harmonious atmosphere around the school and the focussed attitude of our students. We know the importance of academic rigour and of academic success, teamed with personal development.

At The King’s, everybody works hard: the children work hard, the staff work.  Children’s progress is at the heart of everything that we do.  Academic progress is crucial, but we recognise that this cannot happen independently of the development of each child as a unique individual.  We seek to nurture every child’s particular talents – to identify their strengths and to encourage them to persevere in areas of difficulty.  We know that no two children are the same.
