Years 7 and 8

Across both year 7 and year 8 students have the opportunity to study different world religions and investigate some of the ways in which others express their religious belief and commitment to God.  In year 8, as well as completing a comparative study of the Abrahamic faiths, students investigate some contemporary issues and develop their own reasoned responses to these.

In addition, the school uses the Lichfield Diocesan RE Guidelines, “Understanding Christianity” resources and other appropriate materials to enhance teaching and learning.

To prepare for the changes made at Key Stage 4, schemes of work in Key Stage 3 have been adapted to coincide with the course structure and assessment at GCSE level.

Students are encouraged to continually practise their writing skills and each assessment helps students to draw on their knowledge and understanding in order to access the more complex skills of analysis and evaluation.

Students have 2 lessons of Religious Education a week.
